What this service is
A therapeutic service focused on emotional and psychological wellbeing.
What this service is not
This is not case management, statutory social work, advocacy representation, or formal social work assessment.
I offer three distinct services: therapy, therapeutic social work, and independent social work consultancy. Before work begins, I confirm in writing which service you are receiving, the aims of the work, and the professional framework that applies.
Therapeutic Social Work
This service is for people who want therapeutic support from a registered social worker, particularly where emotional distress is connected with trauma, family relationships, risk, loss, care experience, mental health, identity, or complex social circumstances.
This is a social work service with a therapeutic focus. It draws on therapeutic counselling skills alongside social work assessment, psychosocial understanding, systems thinking, and risk-aware practice.
It may be helpful where you want space for emotional reflection and change, but also need a practitioner who can hold in mind the wider context of your life, including family dynamics, safeguarding, care systems, mental health, disability, trauma, and social adversity.
This service may include:
- Trauma-informed therapeutic conversations
- Psychosocial assessment and formulation
- Reflective and relational work
- Attachment- and systems-informed support
- Risk-aware and safeguarding-conscious practice
- Support in understanding how personal distress connects with family, care, or social systems
- Navigating systems including immigration and absorption
- navigating bureaucratic or institutional pressures
This service is not:
- statutory social work
- local authority case management
- crisis intervention
- legal advice or representation
- emergency mental health care
